This kinetic sculpture uses moving mirrors to evoke the surface of choppy, unsettled water. Multiple motors drive the mirrors at slightly different rhythms, creating an erratic motion that never fully synchronizes. The movement is restless and uneasy, mimicking waters that appear navigable but are constantly shifting beneath the surface.

The mirrors are intentionally antiqued and stained, producing flowing patterns that resemble the movement of water across the surface. These stains break up reflection and reduce clarity, echoing disturbed or contaminated waters.

By combining mechanical motion with altered reflective surfaces, the work invites the viewer to experience the sculpture first hand. Where they may catch glimpses of themselves, but never in a fixed or reliable way. Like uneasy waters, the sculpture offers no stable point of reference—only continuous movement and partial reflection.
